Your phone needs power.
Digital home phone works over your broadband connection. That has real advantages — and one important limitation you should know before you order.
In a power cut, or if your broadband is not working, a digital home phone will not make calls — including calls to 999 and 112 — unless a working back-up solution is in place. Keep a charged mobile phone available where possible.
If you depend on your landline
Tell us if anyone in your household relies on the phone line to call for help, or uses equipment connected to it. We will assess what you need and provide a suitable back-up solution at no charge where it is required.
- Telecare or pendant alarms
- Health monitoring equipment
- No mobile signal at the property
- Lift phones, fax machines or card payment terminals
What we do at your address
During ordering we ask about connected equipment and emergency-call dependence. We never claim compatibility with third-party alarm equipment without confirming it first — if we cannot confirm it, we will tell you plainly rather than guess.
Tell us about your needs
You can raise this at any point — before ordering, during installation or later on.
